Xiao you’s story is a tragic example of the consequences of drug abuse in Myanmar. He grew up in a poor family, and when he was just two-years-old, his father began to hallucinate after a drug episode. The father grabbed a knife and murdered his wife and daughter, and severely injured Xiao you. The Myanmar government arrested his father who they immediately sentenced to death. In an instant, Xiao you, lost his entirely family.  

  

After Silver Lining learned about Xiao you's story, he was brought into his new home. It was at this moment, Xiao you's life ushered in a turning point. He now lives in an environment surrounded by his new parents, brothers and sisters. A place with the opportunity to go to school, learn different things, and live a happy and fulfilling life. Although his bodily scars still remain, through care and love Xiao you’s heart can surely and gradually be mended.
